The agreement was signed following the 9th session of the Vietnam-Ukraine Inter-governmental Committee for Economic, Trade and Scientific-Technological Cooperation which ended in Hanoi the same day.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Le Danh Vinh spoke highly of the effective cooperation between Vietnam and Ukraine in recent times, particularly in energy, mining and chemicals. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government and agencies will create the best possible conditions for Ukrainian businesses to operate in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Economy VT Piatnhiski noted that as both countries joined the World Trade Organisation which will foster bilateral ties.
At the 9th session of the Vietnam-Ukraine Inter-governmental Committee, the two countries shared experiences in development and economic reform. They discussed measures to strengthen ties in trade, investment, tourism, transportation, construction, banking, finance and science and technology.
While receiving Mr Piatnhiski in Hanoi the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai welcomed Ukraine businesses’ bids to supply equipment for power projects and to transfer its mining technology to Vietnam.
Mr Hai expressed his belief that the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Ukraine will further develop.
