Trade surplus with Australia reaches over US1.32 bln

(VOV) - Vietnam has seen a trade surplus of over US$1.32 billion with Australia in the first eight months of the year, the Vietnamese Trade Office in Australia reports.

During the eight month period, Vietnamese exports to Australia jumped 31.4% over last year’s corresponding period, reaching US$2.7 billion, it said, adding a majority of the country’s exported goods to the market enjoyed an on-year increased turnover.

Crude oil took the lead with a value of US$1.39 billion, a yearly rise of 53.7%.

It was followed by mobile phones and spare parts with US$243.1 million, down 13.4%, seafood with US$144.37 million, up 34.3%, and iron and steel with US$29.48 million, up 203.2%.
