Top 5 wealthiest Vietnamese women in stock market
VOV.VN - Businesswomen Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Pham Thu Huong, Pham Thuy Hang, Vu Thi Hien, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy are currently the five wealthiest women listed on Vietnam’s stock market.
Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of VietJet Air (VJC), tops the list with assets exceeding VND 39.6 trillion. She holds more than 47 million VJC shares (8.02% of capital) and nearly 131 million HDBank (HDB) shares (3.7% of capital).
According to Forbes, as of October 18, her net worth stands at US$4.2 billion, ranking 960th among the world’s billionaires. She is Vietnam’s first female self-made US$ billionaire and the first in Southeast Asia.
With the vision of “making air travel accessible to everyone,” Thao has developed VietJet into the country’s largest private airline, supporting tourism, trade, and international integration.
Pham Thu Huong, Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup (VIC) and wife of Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong, ranks fifth on the market. She owns over 170 million VIC shares (4.4% of capital), with estimated assets of around VND 34.8 trillion (nearly US$1.4 billion). Huong co-founded Technocom in Ukraine before returning to Vietnam to build Vingroup and later co-established the VinFuture Foundation to honor global scientific and technological achievements.
Pham Thuy Hang, Huong’s younger sister and Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup, holds more than 114 million VIC shares (2.94% of capital) with assets exceeding VND 23.2 trillion, ranking eighth.
Vu Thi Hien, wife of Hoa Phat Group Chairman Tran Dinh Long, is ninth on the stock market with assets over VND 14.78 trillion, holding 528 million HPG shares (8.25% of capital). She is not involved in management but remains a major shareholder in Hoa Phat.
Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, wife of Techcombank Chairman Ho Hung Anh, owns over 348 million TCB shares (4.9% of capital) and additional shares in Masan (MSN), with assets around VND 14.75 trillion, placing her tenth.
In total, the assets of the five wealthiest women on the Vietnamese stock market are estimated at more than VND 127 trillion.
