Ting Ting Day 2025 celebrates cashless innovation in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Ting Ting Day 2025 officially kicked off at Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Ho Chi Minh City, marking the start of a series of activities under the Cashless Day 2025 programme.

The year 2025 is seen as a significant milestone, as it marks the conclusion of the National Cashless Payment Development Scheme for 2021–2025, outlined in Decision No. 1813/QĐ-TTg by the Prime Minister. At the same time, it is also a pivotal moment in Vietnam’s transformation into a comprehensive digital economy.
Representing the organisers, Le The Chu, Editor-in-Chief of Tuổi Trẻ (Young Age) newspaper, stated that through Ting Ting Day, the organisers aim to create not just a technology festival, but also a celebration of convenience, safety, and progress, a space where the cashless ecosystem becomes more familiar and accessible.
Consumers will grow more confident in using digital payment methods. Businesses will see new opportunities for transformation. And state agencies will gain a more effective channel to connect with the public in their endeavor to build a digital society. This, in turn, helps foster new habits and public awareness, contributing to the development of a modern, convenient, and thriving digital society, said Chu.
In a notable highlight of Cashless Day 2025, the Organising Board is also coordinating with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to launch “Vietnam Grand Sale 2025”, the first national promotional campaign of the year, running from June 14 to July 14.
Le Hoang Tai, deputy director general of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE), under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that despite economic challenges, the Ministry remains steadfast in its target of achieving at least 8% growth in 2025 through a series of comprehensive measures.
In terms of trade promotion, the Ministry has instructed VIETRADE and relevant units to implement support programmes aimed at helping businesses enhance adaptability and expand both domestic and international markets.
Among these efforts is Vietnam Grand Sale 2025, which allows businesses to offer discounts of up to 100% of product value, a major shift from the previous 50% limit.
Localities, associations, and businesses are encouraged to combine promotions with trade fairs, exhibitions, and events to stimulate domestic consumption and attract international visitors. Many provinces and cities have responded positively, including Ho Chi Minh City’s “Shopping Season” program.
“The activities of Cashless Day 2025, together with the national promotion campaign, will create a strong ripple effect, fostering a more convenient payment environment for businesses and bringing tangible benefits to both enterprises and consumers,” said Tai.
