Three international exhibitions open in Hanoi to boost industrial supply chain
VOV.VN - Three international trade exhibitions focusing on supporting industries, precision mechanics, semiconductor electronics, and processing-packaging technologies opened in Hanoi on October 13, attracting more than 300 exhibitors from 20 countries and territories.
The three concurrent specialized events, organized by Informa Markets Vietnam at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) in Dong Anh district, include ProPak Hanoi 2026 for processing and packaging technology, MTA Hanoi 2026 for precision engineering and manufacturing, and SemiTronics Vietnam 2026 for electronics and semiconductors.
Running through October 15 under a "One Destination, Three Exhibitions" model, the event establishes a multi-sector industrial ecosystem connecting the value chain from manufacturing and precision mechanics to electronics, semiconductors, and packaging.
At the opening ceremony, Ian Roberts, Senior Vice President for Asia at Informa Markets, said that co-locating the three exhibitions shows the reality of modern manufacturing, where industries are increasingly integrated.
Precision mechanics provide machinery, semiconductor electronics deliver intelligent control capabilities, and processing and packaging technologies bring finished products to market. He noted that Hanoi was chosen due to the dynamic growth of northern manufacturing hubs such as Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen, and Hung Yen, where international investors are actively seeking capable domestic partners.
Addressing the event, Chu Viet Cuong, a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Industry Department, stated that Vietnam has remained a key destination for international investment capital over recent years.
However, the primary requirement for the nation’s industrial sector in the new phase is to shift from a mindset centered largely on attracting investment to simultaneously developing domestic production capacity, increasing the localization rate, and strengthening the participation of Vietnamese enterprises in the global supply chain.
In the coming period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will focus on developing supply chains, upgrading technological and governance capabilities, promoting digital transformation, and strengthening linkages between foreign direct investment enterprises and domestic suppliers.
The Industry Department expects the exhibition series to serve as an effective bridge connecting technology, businesses, markets, and supply chains, while offering domestic enterprises opportunities to upgrade technology and management, expand international cooperation, and raise the localization rate to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam's key industrial sectors.
