Thailand slaps anti-dumping duties on Vietnamese cold-rolled stainless steel
VOV.VN - Thailand’s Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) has issued its final ruling concerning cold-rolled stainless steel products originating from or imported from Vietnam.
According to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), the DFT on October 17 decided to impose anti-dumping duties ranging from 9.95% to 29.8% on the products in question, citing the need to prevent significant harm to Thailand’s domestic industry.
Imports intended for production for re-export are exempt from the duties, in accordance with the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand Act, the Investment Promotion Act, and the Customs Act.
The anti-dumping duties will be in effect for five years, starting from October 11, 2025.
The investigation was initiated in October 2024 following a petition filed by Posco-Thainox Public Company Limited.
The investigation period was from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, and the pre-initiation period was from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
Any party that disagrees with the ruling has the right to appeal to the Intellectual Property and International Trade Court within 30 days of receiving it.
The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam recommended that concerned enterprises carefully review the final conclusion to assess the possibility of filing an appeal if necessary, or to make appropriate adjustments to their production and export activities.
