A delegation of 140 Thai small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has visited in Ho Chi Minh City to seek investment opportunities.

The delegation called at Amata Industrial Park in southern Dong Nai province as part of their Vietnam Study Tour organised by the Thai Siam Commercial Bank.

They also met with other Thais who are doing business in Vietnam to learn experience in exploring the local market.

Thai investors showed their interest in Vietnam’s political stability, low labour costs, good transport facilities and favourable natural conditions.

A Thai Corp representative said SMEs’ consumer goods are suited to the Vietnamese market, which is operating on a small scale.

Tourism and housing are two areas that have untapped potential in Vietnam, said VinaSiam Joint Venture Bank’s general director Sahasin Yuttarat.
