Textile and garment industry makes inroads into Europe’s high-end market

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s textile and garment industry marked its presence in Europe by joining the Premiere Vision 2025 international exhibition in Paris from September 16 to 18 at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition center, with the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) and eight leading enterprises in attendance.

This is the second time VITAS has participated in the prestigious exhibition, which selects only companies meeting strict standards.

Vietnamese businesses brought a wide range of products to the event, from denim and knitwear to women’s fashion and children’s clothing, catering to various market segments.

According to Truong Van Cam, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of VITAS, Europe- particularly France, still offers untapped opportunities for the Vietnamese apparel sector. Despite the market’s strict requirements on sustainability, supply chain transparency, labor and environmental standards, these challenges open new directions for Vietnamese firms facing difficulties in the US market.

Le Minh Phuong, senior officer at the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV), noted that the Premiere Vision organizers highly value Vietnam’s potential as a supplier to Europe. In particular, Vietnamese sportswear, jeans and textile accessories fit well with European consumer trends.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang affirmed that Vietnamese enterprises have adapted well to Europe’s new requirements, especially in developing eco-friendly products.

This year’s exhibition gathered more than 1,500 exhibitors and attracted some 70,000 visitors, focusing on the theme of Innovation & Technology, while highlighting the role of creativity and technology in sustainable development.
