Tetra Pak inaugurates Vietnam's first carton packaging material factory in Binh Duong

VOV.VN - Tetra Pak, a Swedish-based food packaging and processing company, inaugurated its  first  aseptic carton packaging material factory in the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park II in the southern province of Binh Duong on July 3.

The mill sits on an area of 100,000 square metres and has a total investment of EUR120 million. The factory has been designed to produce 12 billion aseptic cartons each year, and the figure is expected to increase to 20 billion aseptic cartons in the future.

The plant's products aim to meet the domestic demand and export to ASEAN member states, Australia and New Zealand.

The factory in Binh Duong represents the eighth Tetra Pak factory in the Asia-Pacific region.

The firm’s latest plant is considered to be one of the greenest in its system, which applies the highest standards in terms of the environment by deploying an energy monitoring system to survey energy consumption activities and reduce CO2 emissions.

Upon addressing the inauguration ceremony, Adolfo Orive, President & CEO of Tetra Pak, said that the greenfield investment in the new Binh Duong factory has proved the company’s strong testimony of long-term commitment to Vietnam.

It is hoped that the latest facility will contribute to accelerating the country’s socio-economic development, generating jobs, and making a positive impact on other related-industries nationwide, noted  Mr Adolfo Orive.
