The Vietnam-China technology and equipment friendship trade fair (Techmart Lang Son 2008) will be held in the northern border province of Lang Son in late August.

This was announced by Ta Ba Hung, Director of the National Center for Scientific and Technological Information, at a press briefing in Hanoi on June 24.

According to the organizing board, the trade fair will take place at the Phu Loc IV in Lang Son city from August 31 to September 3. The event aims to boost trade promotion, facilitate the synergy among research, training and production, and develop the technology market, thus making more contributions to boosting socio-economic development and increasing the production capacity of provinces sharing a common borderline with China in particular, and of other localities in the country in general.

Techmart Lang Son 2008 will have about 300 booths, including nearly 100 from China. It will introduce new technologies, equipment, software solutions and services in the fields of production, food processing, aquaculture and agro-forestry processing, mineral exploration, mechanical engineering, automation, information technology, electronics and telecommunications, and environmental protection.

During the fair, a seminar and exchange will also be organised, with a focus on developing science and technology in the border areas between Vietnam and China.
