VOV.VN - The first shipment of four tonnes of vermicelli was exported to the United States in early January by Tan Viet A Agricultural Cooperative in northern Cao Bang province, said Tran Duc Hieu, director of the cooperative, on January 16.

The shipment was exported through the cooperative’s partner company based in Ho Chi Minh City.

Under the contract signed between the two sides, the cooperative will provide a maximum of four tonnes of vermicelli per month to its partner for export to the US.

Tan Viet A Agricultural Cooperative, located Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang province, currently owns the Tan Viet A vermicelli brand, which has been certified as a 4-star OCOP product. Thanks to continuous efforts in improving product quality, the product now fully meets the standards required for export to the USmarket.

Hieu shared that the export of Tan Viet A vermicelli product to this market represents a big step forward for the cooperative, proving its efforts in management, brand building, and market expansion.

Last year saw the US continue to be Vietnam's largest export market with total two-way trade turnover surpassing US$132 billion, according to data released by Vietnam Customs.
