Taiwanese group to invest US$1 bil in eco-urban area complex
(VOV) - Hanh Phuc (Happy) Cement Group from Taiwan unveiled a plan to invest US$1 billion to construct a modern eco-tourism and urban area complex in northern Quang Ninh province at a meeting with the provincial People’s Committee on September 30.
The group has committed to perfecting formalities as soon as practical after receiving an investment certificate.
The complex will span a 517 ha-eco-urban area in Hoang Tan island in Quang Yen commune and include a 36-hole golf course, international six-star hotels and luxury living accommodations.
The complex will also include, a maritime tourism centre, consisting of a flora and fauna of Ha Long Bay, an underground park, a cultural and geological exhibition house of Ha Long Bay, cultural and water parks, film and culinary art zones, and shopping malls.
The group pledged to carry out the project in 2015 and complete the modern eco-urban area complex by June 2021.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thanh asked relevant agencies to speed up the finalization of all formalities to grant an investment certificate to the group by mid October.
