Switzerland invests nearly US$2 bil in Vietnam

(VOV) - As of December 2014, Switzerland had foreign direct investment (FDI) of US$1.94 billion in 101 projects throughout Vietnam, according to Foreign Investment Agency (FIA).

Switzerland was the 18th largest foreign investor in the country with an average FDI of roughly US$19.2 million per project, which is significantly higher than the average figure of US$14.3 million for all foreign-invested projects combined.

Swiss investors had invested in 14 out of 18 sectors most heavily concentrated in the manufacturing industries, for which it had invested FDI of US$1.64 billion in 36 projects.

Swiss investors had invested in 16 out of 63 localities nationwide. Hanoi and HCM City attracted the lion’s share of FDI at US$97 million in 20 projects and US$67 million in 45 projects respectively.
