The Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) opened its Hanoi-based branch offering retail banking services on July 1, following the first one in Ho Chi Minh City in late June.

The director in charge of the SCB’s retail banking services, Namita Lal, said the expansion is part of the bank’s plan to offer modern products and services to the customers in Vietnam, adding that the SCB succeeded in providing customers with several services such as wealth management and savings accounts for small and medium-sized enterprises and individuals.

At the opening ceremony, General Director of the SCB in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia announced that with each account opened from now until the end of this year, the bank will contribute VND20,000 to a charitable fund for blind people in the capital city.
