Spring Fair 2026 will become annual hallmark of trade promotion, PM says

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said he hopes the first Spring Fair 2026 will grow into an annual hallmark of trade promotion, contributing to stimulating domestic consumption, promoting Vietnamese products and creating fresh momentum for economic development.

At the opening ceremony in Hanoi on February 2, the Prime Minister said the fair is expected to serve as a major platform for connecting producers, distributors and consumers, while helping businesses expand markets, strengthen brands and enhance competitiveness.

Coming on the heels of the Autum Fair 2025, the Spring Fair 2026 is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City authorities, and Vingroup.

The PM Chinh praised the organisers for preparations and stressed that the fair should highlight high-quality Vietnamese products, promote national brands and contribute to building a modern, transparent and sustainable domestic market.

He called on ministries, localities and enterprises to ensure the event is organised in a professional, practical and efficient manner, with a focus on real demand–supply matching, trade promotion and consumer experience.

The fair must evolve into a modern trading platform integrating digital technologies to enhance the public’s shopping experience, and to help Vietnamese businesses connect with customers and international markets in the closest, fastest, strongest and most effective way, said the PM.

It must also serve as a bridge linking Vietnam’s cultural industries with commercial flows at home, in the region and globally, he added.

The Prime Minister expressed his expectation that the Spring Fair would gradually become a large-scale, prestigious national event, helping position Vietnam as an attractive destination for exhibitions and trade fairs in the region.

The fair should go beyond a traditional product showcase, reflecting Vietnam’s economic capacity and serving as a platform to elevate Vietnamese brands globally. Each product should act as a “cultural ambassador,” presenting the image of a dynamic, confident and developing Vietnam, he stated.

The fair runs from February 2 to 13 at the Vietnam National Exposition Centre, featuring about 3,000 standard booths across 10 exhibition halls and a total indoor area of around 100,000 square metres, along with extensive outdoor spaces for cultural, culinary and experiential activities.
