SMEs are the backbone of Hanoi’s economy
(VOV) -Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for over 95% of businesses in Hanoi and generate most of the jobs in the city, says Mac Quoc Anh, vice chairman cum general secretary of the Hanoi Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Association.
Speaking at the 2014 Business night in Hanoi on December 25, Anh also said Hanoi entrepreneurs are responsible for producing more than 38.9% of the city’s gross domestic product (GDP).
SMEs have been the cornerstone of the Hanoi community and have helped to stabilize both social issues and economic growth,Anh said.
Most importantly, they are the new dynamic of entrepreneurship in Hanoi and have been instrumental to meeting the challenges posed by regional and global integration.
On the occasion, municipal leaders granted Labour Medals and certificates of merit on behalf of the Prime Minister to individuals and collectives in Hanoi for their outstanding achievements in business and social activities.
The event, attended by National Assembly (NA) Chairman National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung,was part of activities in celebration of the 85th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
