According to Park Singapore and the Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency, RoK software producers are increasingly interested in Vietnam, particularly its online entertainment industry development potential.
The Vietnam Software Association (VINASA) said that in the near future, Vietnamese and RoK businesses will promote the transfer of e-entertainment technology and Vietnamese businesses will produce online game products for RoK businesses.
VINASA Vice President Truong Hoai Trang said that the domestic online gaming market now belongs to 10 companies with about 300 game developers.
VINASA predicted a growth rate of 70 percent for online game producers and businesses in Vietnam and estimated that successful online games would bring in average revenues of US$1 million per game by 2009-2010.
Vietnam's game market is increasingly bustling with online and mobile games and game shows on television. However, Vietnamese businesses are still waiting for an online gaming law to be passed.
Development of online entertainment is one of VINASA's four development strategies this year.
