Rice exports hit US$2.3 bil in 9 months
(VOV) - Vietnamese rice exports in the nine months leading up to October dipped 5.2% in volume and 1.6% in value over last year’s corresponding period to 5.02 million tonnes valued at US$2.3 billion.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) reports in September alone, the nation exported 524,000 tonnes of rice valued at US$249 million.
The average tonnage price of rice during the nine-month period increased 3.3% on-year to US$453.68.
China remained the largest export market for Vietnamese rice, making up 33.24% of market share. It was followed by the Philippines at 22.71% market share, Malaysia (6.1%), Ghana (5.37%) and Singapore (3.26%).
