PM Phuc holds town hall with business leaders in Laos

The meeting, which included the chief executives of Vietnamese concerns doing business in Laos, involved discussions about improving the business climate as well as strengthening workforce development and transport infrastructure.

PM Phuc explained the purpose of his visit to Laos was about expanding the trade relationships between the two countries and to reaffirm Vietnam’s commitment to the strategic partnership with its western neighbour.

The Prime Minister said the history between the two countries stretches back for generations, and it is the shared past that is the foundation for a future of security and prosperity for the peoples of both countries.

Vietnamese products and services have greatly contributed to the economic development and quality of life in Laos in recent years, the Prime Minister noted, adding that the Vietnam government has been there to help the country’s businesses every step of the way.

Your businesses create jobs, drive innovation, and open opportunity in both of our countries, the Prime Minister underscored, and he thanked those in attendance for all their hard work, setting the stage for stronger economic ties in the time ahead.

On the occasion, PM Phuc and his Lao counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith participated in the grand opening ceremony of the Crowne Plaza in Vientiane, operated by the BIM Group, a Vietnamese conglomerate.
