At a reception in Hanoi on May 24 for a delegation from the US-ASEAN Business Council, the government leader said business community should be a decisive factor behind the two nations' sustainable development.

Vietnam is ready to facilitate the operation of foreign investors in the country, including those from the US, Phuc said, adding the Vietnam government is doing its best to alleviate difficulties to push trade, investment and tourism between the two countries.

Vietnam is keen to learn from other nations’ experience in developing a digital economy and renewable energy, the cabinet leader said while hoping that the council will offer favourable conditions to support Vietnamese enterprises.

He also suggested the council step up cooperation with Vietnam within the framework of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.

The council’s Chairman Keith Williams said he wants to help Vietnamese businesses with market expansion for their exports.

He affirmed that the US business community will do its utmost to canvass the Congress to ratify the TPP as soon as possible.
