Vietnam had exported 35,000 tonnes of pepper by May 2008, nearly 4,000 tonnes less than in the same period of 2007. However, the export value of pepper has increased to US$140 million, compared to the previous level of US$107 million.
The Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA) said although the price of exported pepper slightly fell over the weekend, it remained at around US$2,750-2,800 per tonne.
