Pangasius exports fetch over US$1 billion during nine-month period
VOV.VN - Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnamese Tra fish (pangasius) exports hit US$1.07 billion in the opening nine months of the year, up 3.2% compared to the same period from last year.
The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) reports that China and Hong Kong (China) continue to represent the largest export markets for Vietnamese Tra fish, but their imports fell 19.9% to US$279 million.
Meanwhile, nine-month tra fish exports to the United States, the second largest pangasius consumer, rose by 42.8% to US$248 million.
Elsewhere, Pangasius exports to Brazil also witnessed a sharp increase, climbing from US$28 million in the first nine months of last year to US$45 million in the same period this year.
Exports to markets within the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the European Union also slightly dropped to US$144 million and US$78 million, respectively.
