OV forum improves competitiveness in global economy

(VOV) -Overseas Vietnamese have raised their recommendations to improve Vietnam’s competitiveness in the global economy at a forum co-hosted by the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs and the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission in Hanoi on June 7.

The participants discussed economic restructuring, growth models, governance capacity, banking and agricultural reform.

They also shared other countries’ experience in industrialization and modernization and proposed the annual or regular organisation of a Business Forum for both domestic and overseas intellectuals, experts and scientists.

In his speech, Head of the Economic Commission, Vuong Dinh Hue highlighted human resources and population structure as major competitive edge in integration.

Hue said he hopes the delegates would review economic trend nationally and globally as well as their impacts on competitiveness, economic restructuring and state owned enterprises.
