Ong Cua ST25 rice takes second place at World's Best Rice competition

VOV.VN - Vietnam's signature ST25 rice, marketed under the "Gao Ong Cua" brand, secured second place at the World's Best Rice 2026 competition in Manila, Philippines.

The contest, organized by The Rice Trader during the World Rice Conference, announced the results on October 9. Myanmar claimed first place, while the Philippines took third, with Thailand and India sharing fourth place.

Produced by the Ho Quang Tri Private Enterprise in Soc Trang province and created by agricultural expert Ho Quang Cua, ST25 maintains a strong international track record.

Following top-tier victories in 2019, 2023, and 2025, including sharing the top prize with Cambodia in 2025, alongside a third-place finish in 2017, this year's runner-up placement reaffirms the brand's global standing."

Entries are evaluated annually using samples from the current crop season. An international panel of chefs and culinary experts assesses the rice in both raw and cooked forms against rigorous standards covering grain length, uniformity, texture, and aroma.

"Gao Ong Cua" ST25 holds registered trademarks across major markets, including the US, the  UK, the European Union, Australia, and China.
