The Vietnam Nipro Pharma Ltd (a member of the Nipro Pharma Japan Group) broke the ground on a project to build a factory for producing new medicines and medical equipment in Thuy Nguyen district, Haiphong city on August 8.
The factory is built on 15 hectares at a cost of US$250 million. It is expected to be finished in August 2013 and officially put into operation in April 2015.
With the aim of producing high quality products at low prices for export, the company will have the annual capacity to produce 20 million transfusion bags, 40 million syringes, and 40 million injection tubes, as well as 2 billion pharmaceutical tablets and 1 billion medical plasters, earning around US$50 million from exports.
