Nearly 200 international brands attend VME & SIE 2025 in Hanoi
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s leading industrial exhibition series - Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2025 (VME) –and the Vietnam-Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition 2025 (SIE)- opened in Hanoi on August 6, attracting the participation of nearly 200 international brands.

Renowned brands such as SINFONIA, LKM, AMETEK, TECOMACO, TANCO, HURCO, DYNCAST, CASTOR & WHEELS, are showcasing smart factory solutions, industrial robots, AI applications, and energy-efficient technologies.
VME, organised annually by RX Tradex, is Vietnam’s premier trade show for machinery, equipment, and production technology. First held in 2008, VME has continuously expanded in scale and quality, becoming a familiar destination for engineers, experts, managers, and equipment suppliers from both domestic and international markets.
The exhibition serves as a platform to update cutting-edge technologies and a strategic hub for thousands of smart factory, automation, AI, measurement, and production control solutions.
SIE is co-organised by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) and the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), within the framework of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Initiative and the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA). Its goal is to develop supporting industries and improve the investment environment in Vietnam. Over more than 20 years, SIE has become a trade promotion forum helping Vietnamese enterprises gradually become Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers to major Japanese corporations.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, VIETRADE director general Vu Ba Phu noted that over the past three decades, Vietnam-Japan cooperation has been continuously expanded and deepened across multiple fields, with supporting industries being a standout. Japanese enterprises have not only invested heavily in Vietnam but also actively transferred technology, management standards, and supply chain links to Vietnamese companies. These are favourable conditions for Vietnam to improve domestic production capacity, increase localisation rates, and integrate deeper into global manufacturing networks.
“This exhibition is a vivid demonstration of our sustainable cooperation. It is not only a showcase of cutting-edge products and technologies but also an effective bridge connecting Vietnamese and Japanese businesses. It is a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to understand market demands, enhance management capabilities, expand partnerships, and gradually become suppliers in the global value chain,” said Phu.
Meanwhile, Varaporn Dhamcharee, CEO of RX Tradex Thailand and Vietnam – the event organiser – shared that despite global economic volatility, Vietnam continues to emerge as an attractive destination for foreign investment. Dhamcharee cited the Vietnam National Statistics Office report, saying in the first six months of 2025, FDI disbursement in Vietnam reached an estimated US$11.72 billion, up 8.1% year on year and the highest in the past five years. Notably, the manufacturing and processing sector accounted for 81.6% of the total, with US$9.56 billion, highlighting strong growth potential and opportunities for Vietnamese firms to boost capabilities, integrate into global supply chains, and access advanced technology trends.
“This year’s exhibition aims to promote technology transfer, expand supply networks, and support supporting and manufacturing businesses in accelerating modernisation. The event is expected to attract over 10,000 professional visitors from more than 30 countries, across key industries such as electronics, automotive, precision mechanics, construction, plastics, and chemicals,” said Dhamcharee.
Haruhiko Ozasa, chief representative of JETRO Hanoi, also emphasised that strengthening linkages between Japanese and Vietnamese enterprises goes beyond just technology transfer or workforce training, it is part of a broader strategy to enhance the sustainability of regional value chains. The VME & SIE 2025 exhibitions are a convergence of technological innovation, collaborative partnerships, and a vision for the future of Vietnam’s industry in a new era.
The two exhibitions run through to August 8.
