Ministry auctions import of 126,000 tonnes of sugar

VOV.VN - As per Decision No 2226, the allocation of import tariff quotas for sugar (HS code 17.01) this year, totaling 126,000 tonnes, will be conducted through auctions carried out in September.

Decision No 2227 has sanctioned the formation of an eight-member Council to oversee the allocation of import tariff quotas for sugar this year through auctions. 

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan will chair the council, with Tran Thanh Hai, deputy director of the Import-Export Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), serving as the vice chairman. 

Other members will represent various departments and customs offices under the MoIT, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the General Department of Customs under the Ministry of Finance.

To implement these decisions effectively, the MoIT will collaborate alongside relevant ministries and sectors to facilitate the allocation of import tariff quotas for sugar in 2024.
