LaoVietBank breaks ground on northern Lao branch
(VOV) - The Laos-Vietnam Joint Venture Bank (LaoVietBank) has broken ground on a five-storey US$4.65 million branch bank in Phonsavan commune in Xieng Khouang province in northern Laos.
The Director General of the Laos-Vietnam Joint Venture Bank joined with other executives from the bank and government officials on December 25 for a groundbreaking ceremony at the vacant lot where the branch is scheduled to open next year.
The 2,800 square metre branch will be located at a strategic corner of the town centre that has convenient access for customers, said Somvang Vongvilay, general director of Chitchareune Construction Co. Ltd.
Speaking at the ceremony, Somcoth Mangnomek, Governor of Xieng Khouang province said he appreciated the determination of LaoVietBank to expand operations to meet the demand of people in Xieng Khouang province.
