Lam Dong launches first World Tea Fest to promote Vietnamese tea culture
VOV.VN - The World Tea Fest 2025 officially opened in Lam Dong province, Vietnam’ Central Highlands on November 11 and will run until December 7, marking the largest tea-themed cultural and economic event ever held in Vietnam, with around 20,000 visitors expected.
The festival is organized by the Lam Dong provincial People’s Committee in collaboration with Nam A Bank, Doi Dep brand, Lam Dong Tea Joint Stock Company, and Miss Cosmo Organization.
The month-long program features a string of activities showcasing the cultural heritage, production traditions, and global potential of Vietnamese tea.
The major events, taking place from December 5 to 7, include an international tea expo, a high-level industry development summit, large-scale music performances, diplomatic tea programs, and a street carnival honouring tea culture.
From now until December 4, the festival also hosts parallel activities such as Tea Art- an artistic creation space; Gen Tea-a competition on tea culture and entrepreneurship for university students; and a ceremonial offering of the “national beverage” to the Hung Kings, the legendary founders of Vietnam.
Speaking at a November 10 press conference on the event, General Director of Lam Dong Tea Joint Stock Company Mori Kazuki highlighted Lam Dong’s fertile soil and distinct tea varieties such as black tea, oolong, and green tea and described the province as a “paradise of tea,” where tradition and cultural values continue to flourish.
He expressed hope that, through international forums and exchange programs held during the festival, Vietnamese tea will serve as a symbol of peace and friendship to boost broader cultural and economic cooperation.
