Italy’s scooter brand Lambretta enters Vietnamese market

Italian scooter legend Lambretta officially entered the Vietnamese market on October 10 through its exclusive distributor, Lamscooter JSC, marking a key step in its global expansion and reaffirming its position in the premium two-wheeler segment.

At the launch ceremony, Tran Long, Chairman of Lamscooter, said Vietnam — one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing motorcycle markets — was chosen as the brand’s next destination following strong performances in Europe, the Americas, and Asia, including Thailand, Taiwan (China), the Philippines, and Indonesia.

Founded in 1947 in Milan, Lambretta became an emblem of Italian style and sophistication. For many Vietnamese, the scooter evokes nostalgia as a status symbol of the 1960s and 1970s.

On this occasion, Lambretta introduced two main product lines for the Vietnamese market — the G Series and X Series — both designed in Milan and assembled in Bangkok, Thailand, to meet European quality standards.

The flagship G350 blends classic aesthetics with modern performance, featuring a double-arm link suspension, dual-channel ABS, a Bluetooth-enabled TFT display, and the brand’s signature hexagonal full-LED headlamp. The model is priced at VND169.2 million (about US$6,420), targeting riders seeking luxury and refinement.

The X Series, comprising two variants — the X300 and X125 — starts at VND140 million. The X300, powered by a 275cc engine, embodies Lambretta’s contemporary, performance-driven design, while the X125, priced from VND95.2 million, caters to younger riders who do not require an A2 driving licence.

Both models feature full-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, Bluetooth connectivity, and a seven-level adjustable suspension system. A distinctive seven-bar crystal tail light further enhances Lambretta’s signature design identity.

According to Long, the launch underscores Lamscooter’s commitment to providing premium scooters, professional after-sales service, and a comprehensive customer experience.

Following the debut, Lamscooter will open seven 3S-standard showrooms in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, with plans to expand to Hanoi soon. By 2026, the company aims to establish 18 additional outlets nationwide to build a strong Lambretta community in Vietnam.
