Italy introduces business acceleration platform at ProPak Vietnam 2026
The Italian Trade Agency (ITA), in collaboration with the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association (UCIMA), is introducing OpportunItaly, a business acceleration platform co-run by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ITA, at the ongoing 19th ProPak Vietnam 2026.
OpportunItaly is designed to deliver in-depth, sector-specific information that accelerates deal-making and deepens connections between Italian and Vietnamese companies, said Italian Trade Commissioner to Vietnam and ITA Director in Ho Chi Minh City, Ilaria Piccinni.
She added that Italian firms are presenting a broad lineup of top-tier packaging machinery at the event, underscoring Italy’s strengths in automation, sustainability, and design. The display spans complete solutions, from primary and secondary packaging systems to dosing, labelling and food processing equipment, all fine-tuned for Vietnam’s fast-moving market.
According to her, ITA regularly stages trade promotion activities to drive partnerships, including business-to-business meetings and specialised industry events. The agency also brings Vietnamese business delegations to major Italian trade fairs such as Ipack-Ima, Cosmopack and CibusTech to access packaging and processing tech and stay ahead of global trends.
The ultimate goal is to convert early-stage contacts into lasting, win-win business relationships. ITA gives small and medium-sized enterprises the hands-on support they need to break into and grow in foreign markets, including market intelligence, custom matchmaking, and advice on local rules, market dynamics and cultural nuances, all critical for successful penetration.
Italian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Alessandra Tognonato described the future of Italy-Vietnam business relations as very promising. Vietnam is booming with demand for advanced, efficient, and eco-friendly packaging solutions, making for a perfect partnership. Italy offers cutting-edge technology and expertise, while Vietnam contributes rapid growth and a prime strategic location in Southeast Asia.
Italy’s packaging machinery sector is one of the world’s strongest, buoyed by robust innovation and a global technical support network. Italian manufacturers usually roll out comprehensive after-sales service, enabling straightforward maintenance, upgrades and performance optimisation. With nonstop, end-to-end technical backup, customers can crank up output and slash costly downtime, she added.
