IT businesses centers e-government development process

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s e-government development index can be raised if ministries and sectors review data access and increase the number of online administrative services.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and representatives from ministries and sectors discussed the topic on January 18.

He asked the relevant agencies to study examples in other regional countries and synchronize data on e-government to provide to foreign agencies and update information on their web portals.

He also urged accelerating the provision of public services online, suggesting ministries learn experience of countries like France and Singapore with developed online services.

The Deputy PM asked local authorities to work harder in applying online services and suggested them outsource IT services, adding that major IT enterprises should play a bigger role in developing an e-Government

The UN e-government development index in 2016 ranked Vietnam 89th of 193 countries. Its rankings in three component categories are 74th in the Online Service Index, 110th in the Telecommunication Infrastructure Index, and 127th in the Human Capital Index.
