Ho Chi Minh City and Israel will cooperate in water management technology under an agreement signed in the city on October 19 by director of the municipal department of transport Tran Quang Phuong and Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Amnon Efrat.

Accordingly, the two sides will organize conferences, exhibitions, and training courses in Israel and HCM City to provide the city with Israel’s experiences and advanced solutions in managing, treating, and conserving water, reducing water loss, and ensuring water security.

Israel will also help train the city’s experts and managers and create necessary conditions for them to take study tours of Israel.

In addition, cooperation between businesses on both sides will be promoted.

At the signing ceremony, the Vice President of the Municipal People’s Committee, Nguyen Thanh Tai, stressed the importance of water management in the city, which has a population of nearly 10 million and is being threatened by climate change.

Mr Tai said the city is particularly interested in Israeli technology because it is short of clean water and suffers great water losses due to its poor infrastructure.
