Int’l tourism fair kicks off in HCM City

(VOV) -The Ho Chi Minh City 2014 International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC) kicked off on September 11, attracting businesses from 26 provinces in Vietnam and 18 countries and territories around the globe, with over 250 pavilions.

The three-day extravaganza runs until September 13 and is being staged at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC).

At the event, representatives from travel agencies introduced their development potential and tourism products to customers and exchanged information on tourism cooperation with business partners.

Within the framework of the fair, a customer day and a seminar on potential markets of Japan, the UK, France, Australia, Thailand and the Republic of Korea are planned.

The event themed “Five countries, one destination” aims to tap into the region’s tourism potential and strengthen co-operation in tourism development amongst the five Mekong River countries.
