More than 200 businesses and businesspeople in Vietnam will be given awards for their outstanding achievements in the international economic integration process.
The award ceremony, the second of its kind in Vietnam, will take place in Hanoi on July 25.

The event is part of activities to mark the 15th anniversary of Vietnam’s admission to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and in anticipation of the Vietnam-ASEAN Year 2010.

Speaking at a meeting in Hanoi on May 13, vice president of the selection council Nguyen Quoc Thang said the award is to honour businesses with numerous achievements in international economic integration.

This year’s award called “Businesses integrate into ASEAN”, will honour firms and businesspeople involving in implementation of the ASEAN free trade area as well as free trade agreements between ASEAN and its partners including Japan, Australia, India, China, the Republic of Korea and New Zealand, according to Thang.

There will be 120 awards for firms and 100 others for businessmen and business executives.

The International Economic Integration Award ceremony is held every two years and the first took place in 2008.
