Indonesia targets Vietnam as strategic F&B export market
VOV.VN - With a young population and rising consumer demand, Vietnam is emerging as one of the most promising markets for Indonesia’s food and beverage (F&B) industry, according to Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade.

The strong presence of Indonesian businesses at the recent Vietfood & Beverage-Propack Vietnam 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City underscored this potential, as Indonesian F&B products recorded potential transactions worth IDR4.28 billion (US$266,000) in just three days of the exhibition.
This result affirms the growing position of Indonesian food and beverage products in the Vietnamese market, said Addy Perdana Soemantry, Indonesian Trade Attaché in Hanoi.
While Vietnam is a competitive market, there remains significant room for Indonesian processed products such as biscuits, wafers, chocolates, and soft drinks to expand their footprint, he added.
This year’s Vietfood exhibition from August 7 – 9 attracted over 1,400 booths from 1,000 business groups across 20 countries. Most visitors were business-to-business (B2B) partners, offering exhibitors valuable opportunities to grow their networks and business connections.
Regarding overall trade relations, Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade reported that in the first half of 2025, bilateral trade turnover between Indonesia and Vietnam reached US$8.28 billion, reflecting the increasingly dynamic economic ties between the two countries.
