India initiates anti-dumping probe into yarn from Vietnam
VOV.VN - India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into Elastomeric filament yarn originating from China and Vietnam, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV).

The product is elastomeric filament yarn under the HS codes 54024400 and 54041100, known as Spandex or Elastane yarn in the market, mainly used in the production of elastic clothing.
The anti-dumping investigation period was from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, while the injury investigation was from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022; from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023; and from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024.
According to the TRAV, these products have been investigated and had anti-dumping duty imposed on them by India since 2016.
However, the Indian Ministry of Finance stopped imposing tax on this product after a final review carried out in 2022.
This marks the second time that this product has been subject to an anti-dumping investigation by India.
The petitioner, known as Indorama India Private Limited, alleged that imports of these products from China and Vietnam have caused significant damage to the domestic industry.
The DGTR has therefore requested that relevant parties submit comments on the scope of the product under investigation and on the product classification code within 15 days from the date of the notice of initiation on April 12.
The TRAV recommended that Vietnamese enterprises should proactively review their export activities and prepare relevant response documents to avoid being subject to unfavourable taxes.
