H&M seeks opportunities to expand retail chain in HCM City
VOV.VN - The Swedish fashion giant H&M, one of the world's largest fashion corporations, plans to expand its retail network in Ho Chi Minh City, said Saed El-Achkar, regional manager and CEO of H&M Greater China & East Asia Regions.

Meeting with Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee in the city on September 4, the CEO revealed that currently H&M operates over 4,000 stores across more than 75 countries and territories. Since 2017, the brand has opened 14 retail and showcase stores in Vietnam, combining physical outlets with online sales and local production.
Beyond its retail presence, H&M partners with several factories in Vietnam, providing employment for tens of thousands of workers.
Saed El-Achkar expressed interest in learning about leasing procedures and opportunities for opening new stores in downtown Ho Chi Minh City. He also shared plans to adopt advanced technologies, drive digital transformation, and develop a modern, sustainable, and environmentally friendly retail model.
For his part, the Ho Chi Minh City leader praised H&M’s contributions to Vietnam’s textile industry and fashion market. He highlighted that following the administrative boundary merger with Ba Ria–Vung Tau and Binh Duong provinces, Ho Chi Minh City now offers greater space and potential for H&M’s investment expansion.
Dung affirmed the city’s commitment to creating favourable conditions for international businesses like H&M, while appreciating the ongoing partnership with the Swedish business community in supporting the city’s economic growth.
