HCM City to hold int'l cashew conference
(VOV) -The 7th Vietnam International Cashew Conference is set to transpire Ho Chi Minh City from November 22-24 with the participation of 300 enterprises and associations from 30 countries and territories.
The event co-hosted by the Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS) and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) is seen as a venue for major association like the Global Cashew Council (GCC), the US’s Association of Food Industries (AFI), and the African Cashew Alliance (ACA).
In the first nine months up to October this year, the country exported 272,000 tonnes of cashew nuts, earning US$1.9 billion, up 6% in volume and over 18% in value compared to last year's corresponding period.
Cashew nut export turnover is expected to reach US$2.5 billion this year.
Vietnam continued accounting for more than 50 % of the globe’s cashew nut trade value of roughly US$5 billion and securing its foothold as the world’s leading cashew nut exporter for the 10th consecutive year.
