HCM City, Italy foster textile cooperation
(VOV) -The HCM City University of Technology (HCMUT) and Association of Italian Textile Machine Manufacturers (ACIMIT) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote the textiles industry for mutual benefit.
Madam Carlotta Colli, the Italian General Consulate, signed the agreement on behalf of the ACIMIT while Professor Tran Thien Phuc, ACIMIT vice rector represented the HCMUT.
Madam Carlotta Colli expressed her hope that the agreement will further strengthen the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Italy and it holds great promise for future success.The broad based content of the MoU between the two parties mainly focuses on education and specialized training in textile and garment engineering and includes a provision for developing a state-of-the-art training centre.
After the signing those attending the event enjoyed a fashion show that featured designs by students from Department of Textile and Garment Engineering fabricated from recycled materials.
On the occasion, the ACIMIT also announced the winners of a writing contest, with the first prize being a short term exchange to Italy.
The ACIMIT is a private non-profit organization with its main purpose of promoting the Italian textile machinery sector and supporting its activity around the globe.
