HCM City hosts int’l support industries expo
(VOV) -Vietnam International Supporting Industries Expo 2014 (VSI Expo 2014) kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on September 17, attracting over 140 domestic and foreign companies.
Exhibited industries include garments and textiles, footwear, electronics, plastics, mechanics, and automotive assembly.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the HCM City People's Committee Tat Thanh Cang said VSI EXPO 2014 aims to connect businesses, promote formation of the value chain in manufacturing industrial products and expand the market for support industry products.
In addition, the exhibition helps increase exports of high quality Vietnamese products and boost competitiveness, creating favourable conditions for small and medium companies to reduce imported products, and avoiding overdependence on foreign markets.
Within the framework of the four-day event, a seminar on “Solutions to promote support industries in Vietnam” and a forum on “Realising production cooperation opportunities – Driving force for support industry development” is planned.
