HCM City forges economic links with Japan

(VOV) -Ho Chi Minh City and the Japanese prefecture of Nagasaki are seeking ways to bolster bilateral economic cooperation.
At an August 27 meeting with Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan, Nagasaki Governor Nakamura Houdou said he places great value on HCM City’s economic potential and hopes to deepen collaboration with the city based on the two nations’ traditional friendship.
For his part, Quan said the HCM City visit by the Nagasaki Governor will help push up the two localities’ collaboration in economics, culture, education and tourism as catalyst for strengthening relations between Vietnam and Japan.
Nagasaki has maintained ties with Vietnam since the 17th century. The prefecture’s strength in aquatic products, processed farm produce, handicrafts, mechanical industry and electronic equipment is in oline with cooperation orientations between the two nations.
