HCM City earns high revenue from tourism on National Day
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City earned approximately VND2.9 trillion in tourism revenue during the course of the four-day National Day holiday.
According to figures released by the municipal tourism department, the southern city welcomed around 420,000 domestic visitors and 37,600 foreigners as part of the occasion, an increase of 15% compared to the same period from last year.
Furthermore, the southern metropolis’ accommodation establishments served a total of 162,000 guests while the average occupancy rate of hotel rooms reached 80%, up 6.7% on-year.
As part of efforts to attract more tourists, the southern city's tourism industry is making preparation to welcome international delegations from different countries during the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE-HCMC 2023), which is due to take place from September 7 to September 9.
Simultaneously, the city will also continue to implement plans aimed at welcoming tourists to visit the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee on the last Saturday and Sunday of each month.
Ho Chi Minh City is striving to attract five million international visitors and more than 35 million domestic tourists this year, with total tourism revenue estimated to reach VND160 trillion.
