Vietnam's most modern international container terminal inaugurated in Hai Phong
VOV.VN - The Hai Phong People's Committee, in collaboration with the Hateco Group on April 5 inaugurated the Hateco Hai Phong International Container Terminal (HHIT) at Lach Huyen Port, marking one of Vietnam's deep-water port infrastructure projects fully funded by private capital.

Participants at the inauguration praised the impressive development of the HHIT deep-water port project and the successful cooperation between Maersk and Hateco, which strongly contributes to enhancing trade and cultural ties between Europe and Vietnam.
The Hateco Hai Phong International Container Terminal covers a total area of 73 hectares, with a 900-meter-long quay and a depth of -16.8m to -18.4m in front of the quay. The terminal has the capacity to accommodate two large container vessels of up to 200,000 DWT (≥ 18,000 TEU), with a maximum vessel length of 400 meters. The establishment of the port marks an important milestone in the maritime sector, boosting international trade and driving economic development in the northern region and across the country.
With Berths No. 5 and No. 6 equipped with the most advanced technology, the Hateco Hai Phong International Container Terminal will be the first smart one in Vietnam, featuring an automated gate system, semi-automated quay cranes, and the ability to accommodate the largest vessels in the world, including those traveling from distant locations such as the West and East coasts of the US.
Notably, this is the first port in Vietnam to implement the truck appointment system (TAS) for container truck scheduling, which allows truck drivers to manage their schedules more efficiently, thus saving time and improving operational effectiveness.
