Hanoi agricultural fair attracts 80 businesses

VOV.VN - A trade promotion fair held to promote agricultural products and the One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme opened at AEON Mall Ha Dong in Hanoi on November 20, with 80 local businesses participating in the event.

Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, deputy director of the Hanoi Promotion Agency, said the fair is held in line with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the administration of Hanoi, and AEON Group Vietnam, part of Japanese retail giant AEON Group.

All parties vowed to meet a target of earning US$500 million in terms of the export value of made-in-Vietnam products sold through the AEON retail system by the end of the year, before reaching US$1 billion by 2025.

On display throughout the fair are a wide variety of agricultural items that are both high in quality and have a clear origin.

Featuring 100 pavilions, the four-day event is showcasing a string of activities that aim to boost connectivity between businesses and between sellers and buyers.

Most notably, online purchases through nongsanantoanhanoi.gov.vn have undergone a rapid boost, with the website seeing more than one million views and hundreds of transactions.

This is the third time the capital has held such a promotional event in order to promote AEON’s modern distribution system.
