VOV.VN - The northern province of Hai Duong, a leading lychee producer of Vietnam, on May 30 launched its first export shipment of Thanh Ha lychee to Japan, one of its key importers of the juicy product.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tran Van Quan, vice chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People’s Committee, emphasised the province’s commitment to maintaining high product quality, strengthening trade promotion efforts, and expanding international markets to enhance the value and recognition of its agricultural products.
On the same day, the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with Hai Duong authorities, organised a trade promotion conference on Thanh Ha lychee. The event gathered Vietnamese trade counselors and international businesses to explore market opportunities.

Known for its exceptional flavour, Thanh Ha lychee has built a strong reputation both domestically and internationally. The district currently cultivates lychee on around 3,300 hectares, with an estimated annual output of 35,000 to 38,000 tonnes.
To facilitate exports, Thanh Ha district has been granted 167 growing area codes, including 48 for China, 39 for Australia, 34 for Japan, 38 for the US, and 8 for Thailand.
