The world’s gold prices took a surprising sharp fall on March 31, resulting in domestic gold prices dropping by VND100,000/tael to close at VND26 million/tael.

At 4pm on March 31, SJC gold from the Phu Quy Group was being transacted at VND26.080-26.160 million/tael and Thang Long Dragon gold from the Bao Tin Minh Chau Company at VND26.050-26.150 million/tael, down VND120,000-150,000/tael compared to March 30.

In Ho Chi Minh City on March 31, SJC gold at the Sai Gon Jewellery Holding Company was listed at VND26.07-26.15 million/tael, a fall of VND120,000/tael against the previous day.  

On the VGB gold trading floor, gold stood at VND25.446-26.446 million/tael.

On the world market, on March 31, gold prices suddenly decreased to US$1,103.6 per ounce, down by US$7 per ounce compared to transactions on March 30.
