Global leading groups eye free trade zone project at Da Nang Airport
VOV.VN - Da Nang International Airport (DIA) recently received representatives from leading corporations from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Singapore, discussing investment cooperation opportunities, including the development of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone (FTZ).

At a April 21 reception held for Alvin Chan, head of Human Resources of BITDEER group, and Sara Suo, human resource director at BITDEER group, both sides examined the potential for cooperation in establishing specialised storage facilities for valuable assets such as artworks, jewelry, watches, and gemstones.
The proposed model aims to offer storage, transportation, and preservation services, whilst it also envisions integrating professional exhibition, auction, and transaction activities to cater to the needs of collectors and international financial and art institutions.
DIA representatives revealed that the meetings took place as the central city gears up for a new strategic development phase with the establishment of the first FTZ in Vietnam.
With modern infrastructure and strong support policies from the local government, DIA is poised to become a prime destination to attract international investors such as BITDEER.
According to the plan, the airport is anticipated to become a hub for storing and trading high-value assets in the region thanks to its strategic location, meaning it has been selected as one of the key venues for the construction of the Da Nang FTZ.
The Da Nang FTZ is expected to be built on more than 2,000ha across 10 non-contiguous zones, strategically connected with Lien Chieu Seaport and Da Nang International Airport - two major infrastructure gateways in central Vietnam. These zones are dedicated to logistics operations, logistics and manufacturing, production activities, commercial services, information technology, and innovation ecosystems.
The FTZ is envisioned to boost Da Nang’s status as a regional hub for logistics, high-tech manufacturing, and digital services, while fostering economic integration with international markets.
