Germany’s KURZ Group expand production facility in Gia Lai
VOV.VN - KURZ Vietnam Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Germany’s KURZ Group, has broken ground on Phase 2 of its manufacturing plant at the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park.
The second phase will add 25 million sq.m of annual production capacity, with additional investment of about VND 830 billion. The expansion is scheduled for completion and operation by the end of 2028.
Once completed, the project is expected to improve the quality of local human resources, support the development of supporting industries and contribute to economic growth in Gia Lai province. It will also add activities such as programming services, software production, computer consultancy and IT infrastructure management, thereby increasing the science and technology content within the company’s value chain, supporting digital transformation and optimizing operations.
In his speech at the ground-breaking ceremony, Waegner Thomas Fritz, General Director of KURZ Vietnam Co., Ltd., said Phase 2 represents not only the construction of an additional workshop but also an overall enhancement of capacity.
The expansion is designed to improve operational efficiency, enhance reliability and support future technological development. The company continues to pursue sustainable development, safety and responsible growth, he said.
Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai provincial People’s Committee, said KURZ’s continued investment plays an important role in increasing industrial production value, promoting deeper economic restructuring and strengthening the province’s competitiveness. He called on the company to ensure progress, quality and compliance with regulations on investment, construction, fire prevention and environmental protection.
On September 8, 2023, the KURZ Group inaugurated its high-tech decorative foil and thin film production plant at the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park, marking its first investment project in Vietnam and the first industrial project implemented at the park. Phase 1 had total investment of US$40 million and annual capacity of 15 million sq.m, primarily producing Luxor and Alufin films.
