Fruit and vegetable sector sets sights on US$10 billion export target by 2030
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese fruit and vegetable industry is anticipated to earn US$10 billion from exports by 2030, said Dang Phuc Nguyen, general secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (Vinafruit).
During the December 12 seminar held in Hanoi to connect supply chains and seek ways to enhance brand value of the industry, Nguyen emphasized that the Vietnamese fruit and vegetable sector’s export turnover has increased from US$5.6 billion last year to reach US$7.2 billion this year.
With the current development momentum coupled with rising consumption demand from the Chinese market, the industry will set a new record of US$10 billion by 2030, he said.
Nguyen added that with great potential for producing agricultural products, Vietnam has affirmed its position as one of the world's leading exporters of farm produce.
He went on to reveal that to in order to create a playground for domestic and foreign enterprises, the seventh International Exhibition & Conference for Horticultural and Floricultural Production and Processing Technology (HortEx Vietnam 2025) is scheduled to be held from March 12 to March 14, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event is expected to provide a platform in which businesses, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and technical experts can come together to strengthen connectivity, expand markets, and promote trade co-operation with international partners.
